Black and White might change my Photography
This is a discussion with myself on how my love for photography should advance, and how my approach should change. It is true that to get really good at something you have to repeat it, improving to mastership. But this is not the way for those like me who don't want to specialize and stick with one genre. Like most other photographers or artists, I feel that doing the same again and again gets boring.
The right way to overcome boredom is to experiment with something new, in this case B/W photography. The interesting twist of this kind of photography is that it changes your photographic perspective.
B/W is not like color photography. It is about contrast and shades, completely getting rid of one ingredient, the color. After a while, you start to look at scenes differently, even if you shoot them in color. Objects and shapes become more important than they were before. It is a different kind of looking.
I am not sure where this leads me to. I hope I don't have to relearn seeing and showing the beautiful hues of the colors around us.
